Simple pan fried pak choi

For me some greens are essential with every meal, this simple recipe can be used for most leafy veg. The great thing about pak choi though is that it cooks super quickly. When cooked simply like this with not too much going on it retains its light flavour and crispness.

Serves 4

Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 pak choi

  • 2-3 cloves of garlic

  • 1-2 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the pak choi and trim the ends off at the base.

  2. Roughly chop two or three garlic cloves and fry in about a teaspoon of oil until you their fragrance is released (probably only about 30 seconds).

  3. Add the pak choi, toss, add 1-2 teaspoons of soy sauce and toss again.

  4. Add a few table spoons of water then cover, turn the heat down to medium/low and let the pak choi steam in the pan until cooked (about 3 minutes).
